    Gallbladder disease is common in sickle cell anemia patients, affecting 80% in this study. Cholecystography is recommended for all sickle cell anemia patients due to high rates of gallbladder issues.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To analyze the association between gallbladder disease and sickle cell anemia.
    • To determine the incidence of gallbladder disease in sickle cell anemia patients.

    Main Methods:

    • Retrospective analysis of ten cases.
    • Review of patient medical records.

    Main Results:

    • Eight out of ten patients (80%) had gallbladder disease.
    • High incidence of cholecystitis and cholelithiasis observed.

    Conclusions:

    • There is a high incidence of gallbladder disease in sickle cell anemia patients.
    • Cholecystography is indicated for all patients with sickle cell anemia or other hereditary hemolytic jaundice.
