[Plasmapheresis. A review (author's transl)]

In the light of a review of the literature the possible lesions due to plasmapheresis reported by individual authors are pointed out, the individual protein groups being given particular attention. The effect of plasmapheresis on the platelet count and the danger of pneumatic ischemia is discussed. The possibilities of establishing plasmapheresis in Germany, except for therapeutic measures, are pointed out. Finally, our own current observations on the application of plasmapheresis are presented.
