Abstract:
The physical principles underlying the production of the laser effect are described, followed by a more detailed description of the surgical CO2 FLF 25 laser that has been employed for the last 18 months, underlining its original features but also the dangers resulting from the use of these rays. Indications can bae divided into two main groups: --tumours capable of being treated by section or vaporization, --affections of the labial, lingual, jugular, and pharyngeal mucosae in which very effective results have been obtained. The use of the laser is proposed during surgical treatment of maxillofacial lesions and cancer.
