    Summary

    A new enzyme immunoassay accurately measures platelet-associated IgG (PAIgG). This test is highly sensitive and can diagnose idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) by detecting elevated PAIgG levels.

    Background:

    • Platelet-associated IgG (PAIgG) is a marker for immune thrombocytopenic disorders.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To develop and validate a novel, sensitive, and reproducible solid-phase enzyme immunoassay for quantifying PAIgG.
    • To assess the diagnostic utility of this assay in distinguishing patients with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) from healthy controls and patients with aplastic anemia.
