The management of fractures of the zygoma
Abstract:
A series of cases of zygomatic fractures was studied to see if a change to a more extensive surgical intervention was justified. The surgical anatomy of the cheekbone complex was studied and certain protective features which determine the pattern of fracture were noted; treatment which takes account of these facts was suggested. Some observations are made on diplopia and enophthalmos and a plea is made for caution in accepting the concept of the "blowout" fracture.
