[Familial partial resistance to thyroid hormones. A report on one case (author's transl)]
Annales D'Endocrinologie
|December 1, 1981
Abstract:
Exploratory tests were conducted in a mother and her son presenting partial resistance to thyroid hormones. This resistance was best diminished by T3, but at the cost of very enhanced peripheral blood hormone levels, without clinical signs of hyperthyroidism. It is suggested that this resistance phenomenon is much more common than is generally accepted, but that it usually does not present the marked caricatural aspect as seen in the case reported.
