    • To propose and test novel sampling methods for improved practice profiling in CME.

    • Compared existing sampling procedures against a 6-month continuously coded patient database for 16 family physicians.
    • Analyzed the 6-month database to identify sources of variance.
    • Proposed and validated two new sampling procedures using a 12-month continuously coded database.
