    Background:

    • Papillary renal cell carcinoma (PRCC) is a distinct subtype of kidney cancer.
    • Differentiating PRCC from nonpapillary renal cell carcinoma (NPRCC) is crucial for treatment and prognosis.
    • Ultrasound is a common imaging modality for renal masses.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the ultrasound characteristics of papillary renal cell carcinoma.
    • To compare the sonographic patterns of PRCC with those of NPRCC.
    • To identify imaging features that may help distinguish between these two entities.

    Main Methods:

    • Retrospective analysis of 11 surgically confirmed cases of PRCC.
    • Retrospective review of 65 surgically confirmed cases of NPRCC.
