Infratentorial neuroepithelial cyst (colloid cyst). Case report

• The cyst was located in the leptomeninges, between the inferior colliculus and superior cerebellum.
• The cyst's lining comprised ciliated pseudostratified columnar epithelium (respiratory type) and cuboidal ependymal epithelium.

Findings:

• The cyst exhibited a dual epithelial lining, suggesting a complex origin.
• The location in the leptomeninges is unusual for previously described colloid cysts.
• Histological features provide clues to the cyst's developmental pathway.

Implications:

• This case expands the known spectrum of neuroepithelial cyst presentations.
• The findings may necessitate a re-evaluation of the developmental origins of certain brain cysts.
