    Summary

    Facial trauma can cause severe bleeding, sometimes fatal, that is often overlooked by physicians. Early identification and simple measures can control facial hemorrhage, preventing shock and irreversible organ damage.

    Area of Science:

    Background:

    • Facial trauma frequently causes bleeding, ranging from minor to severe.
    • Hemorrhage from facial structures can be life-threatening if not managed promptly.

    Observation:

    • Two cases of fatal hemorrhage from facial trauma were observed.
    • Physicians often delay diagnosis and treatment of facial hemorrhage.
    • Delayed management leads to prolonged shock and irreversible ischemic organ damage.

    Findings:

    • Facial and oropharyngeal examination can identify sources of hemorrhage.
    • Simple measures can effectively control epistaxis and other facial bleeding.

    Implications:

    • Highlights the critical need for thorough facial examination in trauma patients.
