    Background:

    • Chest wall stimulation (CWS) is a method used in clinical practice.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the clinical utility of chest wall stimulation (CWS) for follow-up studies in pacemaker patients.
    • To assess the value of CWS in observing the intrinsic rhythm of patients with pacemakers.

    Main Methods:

    • The CWS method was employed for periodic checks of intrinsic rhythm.
    • The study included 25 long-term pacemaker patients diagnosed with atrioventricular block.

    Main Results:

    • Over an average follow-up of 26.6 months, 16% showed improved conduction disturbance, while 44% experienced aggravation.
    • Five patients with aggravation had no detectable intrinsic rhythm.
    • Improvement was observed in atrioventricular conduction but not intraventricular conduction.
