    Background:

    • Schizophrenia and related psychotic disorders remain incompletely understood at a biochemical level.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate potential amino acid abnormalities in a patient with a chronic schizophrenia-like psychotic disorder.
    • To explore the relationship between biochemical findings and the patient's psychiatric condition.

    • Analysis of fasting plasma amino acid concentrations.
    • Measurement of asparagine, ornithine, proline, glutamate, and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in plasma and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).
