Experimental obstructive hydronephrosis in newborn rats. III. Long-term effects on renal function.

    Partial ureteral obstruction in newborn rats led to pelvic enlargement but only a minor decrease in glomerular filtration rate (GFR). Compensatory increases in the healthy kidney preserved overall kidney function, suggesting resilience in obstructive uropathy without infection.
