Recurrent ventricular fibrillation after open-heart surgery. A case report

A case of myocardial infarction following cardiac valvular surgery is reported. Anti-arrythmic drugs in maximal doses failed to control recurrent ventricular fibrillation. On the other hand, during the acute stage the ventricular arrhythmias responded dramatically to transvenous atrial pacing. During the sub-acute phase the presumed sick-sinus syndrome was treated with hydrallazine with good effect.
