    Electrical stimulation of the His bundle in a patient with atrial flutter failed to lower heart rate. This intervention induced a temporary complete heart block, leading to reduced AV node conduction capacity.

    • An electrical current of 80 Ws was applied.

    Findings:

    • The intervention induced a transient third-degree atrioventricular block, resolving within 6 hours.
    • Electrophysiologic assessment revealed significantly diminished AV node conduction capacity after one week.

    Implications:

    • His bundle stimulation can acutely impair AV node function.
    • This technique may offer insights into managing refractory atrial flutter.
