The suicidal patient on the surgical ward: a multidisciplinary case conference

A multidisciplinary conference was held concerning a young woman hospitalized with multiple injuries resulting from a suicide attempt. This case demonstrates the usefulness of a unified biopsychosocial approach to the care of a suicidal patient requiring treatment by numerous services in the general hospital.
