    Area of Science:

    • Endocrinology
    • Neurosurgery
    • Infectious Diseases

    Background:

    • Pituitary abscesses are rare complications of pituitary tumors.
    • Diagnosis is often delayed, leading to high morbidity and mortality.

    Observation:

    • Presents three consecutive cases of pituitary abscesses within tumors.
    • Preoperative diagnosis was achieved in all cases.
    • Patients received hydrocortisone, antibiotics, and surgical drainage.

    Findings:

    • All patients recovered with minimal neurological deficits.
    • Literature review indicates delayed diagnosis is common.
    • Delayed diagnosis is associated with significant mortality and morbidity.

    Implications:

    • Early suspicion and prompt treatment are crucial for better outcomes.
    • Aggressive management can reduce the high mortality and morbidity associated with pituitary abscesses.
