Computerized tomographic findings in meningovascular syphilis: a case report.

Background:

Meningovascular syphilis, a neurosyphilis form, can affect cerebral arteries.
Angiographic evidence of arterial narrowing is documented but rare.
Computerized tomography (CT) findings are infrequently reported.

Observation:

A patient presented with neurological deficits.
CT scan revealed multiple vascular infarcts in the brain.
No other cause for the infarcts was immediately apparent.

Findings:

The pattern of infarcts suggested a vasculopathy.
Syphilis was identified as the likely cause of the arterial disease.
CT imaging demonstrated characteristic signs of cerebrovascular disease.
