    Summary

    Patients with active systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) show higher immunoglobulin E (IgE) levels. These IgE levels decrease when the SLE disease activity becomes quiescent, suggesting a link between IgE and SLE activity.

    Background:

    • Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease.
    • Immunoglobulin E (IgE) is involved in allergic reactions and immune responses.
    • The role of IgE in SLE pathogenesis is not fully understood.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the association between serum IgE levels and disease activity in patients with SLE.
    • To determine if changes in IgE levels correlate with the clinical status of SLE.

    Main Methods:

    • Serum samples were collected from patients with SLE.
    • Serum IgE levels were measured and compared between patients with active SLE and those in remission.
    • IgE levels were monitored in relation to disease activity fluctuations.
