    Background:

    • Empty sella syndrome is a rare condition where the pituitary gland is flattened or herniated into the sella turcica.

    • Three patients presented with visual field defects, including enlarged Mariotte spots and irregular visual field defects.
    • Initial suspicion in these cases was intraocular tumors due to sellar ballooning and visual disturbances.

    • Metrizamide cisternography and metrizamide computed tomography (CT) confirmed empty sella syndrome in all three patients.
