    Summary

    Jaundiced Gunn rats show altered liver enzyme activity due to decreased microsomal membrane fluidity. These changes in membrane lipid composition may explain the variations in hepatic enzyme function.

    Background:

    • Homozygous jaundiced (jj) Gunn rats display variable hepatic microsomal enzyme activities compared to non-jaundiced (JJ) Gunn rats.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To determine if changes in microsomal lipid composition correlate with altered hepatic enzyme activities in jaundiced Gunn rats.
    • To assess membrane fluidity differences between jaundiced and non-jaundiced Gunn rats.
