Background:

Eosinophilic gastroenteritis (EG) is an uncommon inflammatory condition characterized by eosinophilic infiltration of the gastrointestinal tract.
It most frequently involves the gastric antrum but can affect any part of the GI tract, including the small and large intestines.
Clinical presentation often includes chronic abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

Observation:

A case of EG presenting as acute small intestinal obstruction is reported.
The obstruction was caused by isolated involvement of the distal small intestine.
This presentation is unusual, as EG typically involves the stomach antrum.

Findings:

The case demonstrates that eosinophilic gastroenteritis can manifest as acute small intestinal obstruction.
