    Area of Science:

    • Dermatology
    • Therapeutic Research

    Background:

    • Keratosis lichenoides chronica (KLC) is a rare, chronic inflammatory skin disorder.
    • Limited treatment options exist for KLC, often necessitating exploration of novel therapeutic strategies.

    Observation:

    • A single patient diagnosed with keratosis lichenoides chronica presented with significant dermatological manifestations.
    • The patient's condition was refractory to previous monotherapies.

    Findings:

    • The patient exhibited a substantial clinical improvement following a combined treatment regimen.
    • This regimen integrated systemic retinoids with photochemotherapy (psoralen plus ultraviolet A radiation).

    Implications:

    • Combined retinoid and photochemotherapy demonstrates potential efficacy in managing keratosis lichenoides chronica.
    • This therapeutic approach may offer a viable treatment alternative for patients with recalcitrant KLC.
