[Evaluation of pm gastric cancer]

We studied 69 patients with pm gastric cancer seen during the last 10 years. Lymph node metastasis was present in 40.6%; the 5-year survival was 77.1%. The macroscopic form and tumor long diameter showed a good correlation with the rate of lymph node metastasis and the prognosis. Especially with regard to the early cancer-like type and the Borrmann type, remarkable differences were observed in the characteristics and the late results, even among cancers infiltrating to the same pm.
