[Multiple brain metastasis from renal cell carcinoma--a care report]
Abstract:
A 51-year-old woman was admitted with left renal cancer with lung metastasis. Nephrectomy was performed in September 1976. She was readmitted in comatous state 2.3 years later. Excision of multiple brain metastases resulted in recovery of consciousness and she was able to resume her normal life. However, 6 months later, she died of progression of pulmonary metastasis. Autopsy study revealed no cancer recurrence in the brain and left renal fossa. Multiple brain metastases from renal cancer and their treatment are discussed.
