    • The circulating lymphocytes lacked B-lymphocyte markers and showed no response to mitogenic stimulation, indicating functional incompetence.
    • Morphologic and ultrastructural analyses suggested a T-lymphocyte lineage for the neoplastic cells, though virus particles were not detected.
