[Experience with the vitrector in the treatment of secondary cataract (author's transl)]

As a new method of surgical treatment of secondary cataract the excision with a vitrector by Klöti is recommended. This method avoids the disadvantages inevitable in discision with a knife or scissors. It proved to be successful in 36 eyes during the observation period. Three examples, chosen because of different indications, are discussed.
