Immediate prosthetic replacement following major maxillary surgery
The Australian and New Zealand Journal of Surgery
|August 1, 1980
Abstract:
Treatment of the maxillectomy patient must embrace maxillofacial prosthetics at all stages of the patient's treatment, including the preoperative phase. Success can only be assured when full cooperation exists between the specialists concerned. Three case reports are offered as examples in which immediate prosthetic replacement was of considerable benefit, and the advantages of this service are discussed.
