[Creeping attachment after free autologous gingival transplants: 2 different surgical technics in a unilateral
Deutsche Zahnarztliche Zeitschrift
|May 1, 1980
Abstract:
Seven patients who exhibited a bilateral deficiency in attached gingiva in the region of the upper or lower canines or premolars with simultaneous formation of recession were selected for treatment. Each patient received a submarginal (left) and a marginal (right) gingival graft, the coronal border of which also formed the new margo gingivae. The marginal transplant proved to be clearly superior to the submarginal in terms of a "creeping attachment". Eighteen months after the marginal transplant, a "creeping attachment" of between 0.5 and 2.5 mm could be demonstrated.
