[Technic of sclerosing: faithfulness to principles: some variations in the management]

Sclerosis of the stem of the vessel is the essential goal of the sclerosing method. To achieve it, the sclerosing fluid should be in contact with all the endovenous surface. Sclerosis due to the extension of a provoked veinitis does not last very long. Contact with the sclerosing fluid is obtained: 1) Through a single injection in the stem, the motion of the fluid being directed with the impulsions created by the raising or lowering of the limb, depending on the site of the injection. 2) Fragmentation of the total dose in several injections over the total length of the stem of the vessel.
