    Background:

    • Acute monocytic leukemia (M5) is a subtype of acute myeloid leukemia.
    • Understanding the cytogenetic landscape of M5 is crucial for diagnosis and prognosis.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate chromosomal abnormalities in a cohort of acute monocytic leukemia (M5) patients.
    • To identify specific chromosomal regions frequently altered in M5.

    Main Methods:

    • Cytogenetic analysis of bone marrow samples from 34 M5 patients.
    • Karyotyping to detect chromosomal aberrations.

    Main Results:

    • No chromosomal abnormalities were detected in 12 out of 34 cases.
    • Chromosomal aberrations were present in the remaining 22 cases.
