Carboquone therapy for hematologic neoplasms

    Summary

    Carboquone effectively induced remission in hematologic malignancies. Patients with chronic myelogenous leukemia and polycythemia vera showed high complete remission rates, suggesting therapeutic potential.

    Background:

    • Hematologic malignancies represent a significant global health challenge.
    • Effective remission induction therapies are crucial for improving patient outcomes.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the efficacy of Carboquone in inducing remission for patients with hematologic malignancies.

    Main Methods:

    • A daily oral dose of 1-2 mg of Carboquone was administered.
    • The study included 38 patients diagnosed with various hematologic malignancies.

    Main Results:

    • Complete remission was achieved in 2/3 patients with malignant lymphoma.
    • 1/12 patients with multiple myeloma achieved complete remission.
    • 13/14 patients with chronic myelogenous leukemia achieved complete remission.
    • All 9 patients with polycythemia vera achieved complete remission.

    Conclusions:

    • Carboquone demonstrates significant efficacy in inducing complete remission across several hematologic malignancies.
    • High remission rates in chronic myelogenous leukemia and polycythemia vera warrant further investigation.
