    Summary

    Beta-hemolytic streptococcal infections may cause acute urticaria, even without obvious symptoms. Routine screening for streptococcal pharyngitis is recommended for acute urticaria evaluation.

    Background:

    • Acute urticaria is a common dermatological condition.
    • Identifying the underlying cause of acute urticaria is crucial for effective management.
    • Streptococcal pharyngitis is a potential, though often overlooked, trigger for urticarial reactions.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the prevalence of streptococcal pharyngitis in patients with acute urticaria.
    • To determine if subclinical streptococcal infections are associated with acute urticaria.
    • To recommend diagnostic approaches for identifying streptococcal triggers in acute urticaria.

    • Retrospective analysis of 81 acute urticaria cases over two years.
