    Summary

A rare congenital anomaly, a single arterial trunk originating from the aortic arch, was observed in a 59-year-old male. This unique vascular configuration has not been previously documented in medical literature.

    Area of Science:

    • Cardiovascular anatomy
    • Congenital vascular anomalies

    Background:

    • Congenital anomalies of the aortic arch are rare but can lead to significant clinical complications.
    • Variations in the origin and branching of the great arteries require thorough anatomical understanding.

    Observation:

    • A case report detailing a 59-year-old male patient presenting with a unique aortic arch anomaly.
    • The anomaly consists of a single arterial trunk arising directly from the aortic arch.

    Findings:

    • This specific configuration, a solitary arterial trunk from the aortic arch, appears to be unprecedented.
    • A comprehensive literature review failed to identify any previously reported instances of this vascular abnormality.

    Implications:

    • This case highlights the potential for previously undocumented congenital vascular variations.
    • Further research into the embryological basis and clinical significance of such rare anomalies is warranted.
    • Accurate anatomical diagnosis is crucial for surgical planning and patient management.
