Abstract:
A case of malacoplakia of the prostate in a 66-year old man is reported. This is the first time, that the diagnosis was established by needle biopsy. There are only eight previous reports of prostatic involvement. Three of these cases were initially misinterpreted as carcinoma. The present case is discussed in view of the pertinent clinical and pathological data in the literature.
