Abstract:
Numerous hepatological groups were formed in close correlation with the development of our public health care system, research medical societies and international level of medical science at the higher university institutes and the regional clinics in our country. They are very active as regards medical investigations and development of science, organization of subspecialized medical attendance of patients with diseases of the liver and gall bladder as well as qualification and improving of qualification. Their work corresponds to the international level, in certain fields high achievements being realized. To the administration of the gastroenterological society--and particularly to the gastroenterologists, goes the merit of that development, the organization of the scientific conferences, management of the scientific-research programmes, the stimulation of the publication of papers in scientific periodicals and textbooks and encouragement of the young scientists.
