    Summary

This study describes four cases of T cell lymphoma with two distinct histological patterns. These aggressive lymphomas showed poor response to chemotherapy, highlighting the need for better treatment strategies.

    Area of Science:

    • Hematology
    • Oncology
    • Pathology

    Background:

    • T cell lymphomas are a diverse group of lymphoid malignancies.
    • Understanding the morphological and clinical spectrum is crucial for diagnosis and treatment.

    Observation:

    • Four cases of node-based T cell lymphoma were analyzed.
    • Two distinct histological patterns were observed: polymorphous and monomorphous.
    • One case demonstrated progression between patterns.

    Findings:

    • T cell lymphomas exhibited E-rosette formation and positive acid alpha-naphthyl acetate esterase activity.
    • Patients presented with lymphadenopathy and extranodal involvement.
    • Poor response to standard chemotherapy was noted, with a median survival of approximately 50 months.

    Implications:

    • These findings contribute to the classification of T cell lymphomas.
    • The aggressive nature and poor treatment response underscore the need for novel therapeutic approaches.
    • Further research into T cell lymphoma subtypes is warranted.
