    Background:

    • Post-resuscitation hypertension is a recognized complication in trauma patients.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the relationship between fluid volumes, fluid distribution, and hypertension following resuscitation in injured patients.
    • To differentiate between fluid overload and fluid maldistribution as causes of post-resuscitation hypertension.

    • Measured plasma volume (PV), red blood cell (RBC) volume, and extracellular fluid (ECF) in hypertensive and nonhypertensive injured patients.
