Abstract:
A total of 19 pediatric patients received cefoxitin for the treatment of various infections by intravenous injections of a daily dose ranging from 68 to 125 mg/kg body weight dividing the dose into 3 to 4 times per day. The therapeutic efficacy was excellent in 14 cases, good in 4 and fair in 1, the efficacy rate being 95%. As for side effects, 1 case each of rash, diarrhea and eosinophilia were observed, but none of them were serious.
