    Area of Science:

    • Neurology
    • Rheumatology
    • Vascular Medicine

    Background:

    • Behçet's syndrome is a rare multisystem inflammatory disorder.
    • Intracranial hypertension is not a commonly recognized initial manifestation.

    Observation:

    • Six patients with Behçet's syndrome presented with intracranial hypertension.
    • Symptoms included headaches and papilledema with normal or small ventricles.

    Findings:

    • Cerebral vein thrombosis was identified as the cause of intracranial hypertension in these patients.
    • Associated symptoms included oral ulcers, genital ulcers, uveitis, arthralgia, and thrombophlebitis.

    Implications:

    • Papilledema and intracranial hypertension due to cerebral vein thrombosis may be early indicators of Behçet's syndrome.
    • This highlights the need for increased awareness among clinicians regarding neurological manifestations of Behçet's syndrome.
