[New generation of suturing apparatus]

For the last 20 years many varieties of suturing instruments for different branches of surgery have been designed. The main trend in the design of suturing instruments is the use of plate matrices, when the tissue to be sutured is placed between the matrix and the stapling part, as well as the use of needle-shaped matrices, when the tissue to be sutured is pierced with a curved needle having a groove on its inner surface for directing and bending staple ends.
