Carbohydrate metabolism in glomerulonephritis

    Summary

    Glomerulonephritis patients show impaired carbohydrate metabolism, linked to kidney function decline and protein loss, even before azotemia develops. Insulin sensitivity and hormone levels are affected early in the disease.
