[Growth hormone level dynamics in acromegaly in response to glucose load and measured bicycle ergometry]

The work is based on the materials of clinical examination of 67 patients with acromegaly. Study of the hypothalamo-hypophysial reaction in respect to the growth hormone secretion in patients with acromeglay revealed correlation between the clinical picture indicating the progress of the disease and pointing to the activity of the process according to the results of glucose load and dosaged veloergometry test. Dosaged physical exercise can be used to determine the activity of the process in patients with acromegaly accompanied by disturbances of the carbohydrate metabolism when glucose load was contraindicated.
