Quantitative method to determine the liver size

The need for quantitative methods to determine the liver size has not been generally recognized at the clinic. Subjective evaluation of the size of the organ in roentgenograms is unsatisfactory, which is seen when subjective records are compared with the liver volume calculated by quantitative roentgenologic method.
