Abstract:
Illnesses that may cause vitamin deficiencies include gastric atrophy, alcoholism, and primary biliary cirrhosis, which hinders assimilation of vitamins A, D, and K. A diet history, which should be obtained by a dietitian, is helpful for diagnosing vitamin deficiencies in a geriatric patient.
