The nutritionist as the primary care provider in a team approach to obesity

The obesity program at the New England Institute of Nutrition and Health offers the nutritionist the opportunity to employ all of the skills and knowledge which she has acquired. Because the literature on obesity treatment does not point to the success of any one approach or method, we have chosen to use an eclectic approach, tailored for each patient. Our practice indicates that there is no one answer to this complex problem and that, despite common themes and patterns which emerge among patients, individualized treatment is the treatment of choice.
