Fetal femur length and gestational age

Abstract:
Ultrasound measurement of the fetal femur length during the second trimester is now possible and is a good indicator of fetal age, comparing favorably with measurement of fetal biparietal diameter. It is a simple technique and can be performed quickly. The prospect of the first fetal physical examination is fast becoming a reality, and this technique adds a new dimension.
