    Area of Science:

    • Cardiology
    • Medical Informatics
    • Biomedical Engineering

    Context:

    • The increasing volume of electrocardiograms (ECGs) necessitates efficient analysis methods.
    • Computer-aided ECG interpretation is becoming essential for routine medical examinations.

    Purpose:

    • To evaluate the reliability of the analogo-digital-computer Express Analyzer Cardiograph EAC-2 for occupational medical examinations.
    • To compare the computer's ECG analysis with manual interpretation by physicians.

    Summary:

    • The Express Analyzer Cardiograph EAC-2 was tested on 252 individuals.
    • 80% of ECGs were correctly grouped by the computer.
    • The EAC-2 did not misclassify any pathological ECGs as normal, showing high diagnostic accuracy.
