Proptosis secondary to subdural hematoma

    Summary

    A subdural hematoma extending into the orbit caused unilateral proptosis. Prompt diagnosis via ultrasonography and needle aspiration prevented neurological issues, highlighting head trauma as a key cause.

    • Subdural hematomas can present atypically, extending beyond the cranial cavity.

    Findings:

    • Percutaneous needle aspiration provided temporary proptosis relief and intracranial decompression.
    • Computed tomography (CT) initially suggested a possible tumor, necessitating further investigation.
