    Observation:

    • A 19-year-old male presented with a history of carpal trauma.
    • Initial imaging revealed a scaphoid fracture but no other bony abnormalities.
    • One year later, follow-up imaging demonstrated a giant cell tumor in the distal ulna.

    Findings:

    • The development of a giant cell tumor in the distal ulna occurred after the scaphoid fracture had healed.
    • No other bony abnormalities were noted initially, suggesting the tumor arose de novo or was previously undetected.
    • The temporal relationship between trauma and tumor development provides circumstantial evidence.

    Implications:

    • This case report highlights a potential association between trauma and the pathogenesis of giant cell tumors.
    • Further research is warranted to explore the role of mechanical stress and injury in GCT development.
    • Clinicians should consider a history of trauma when evaluating patients with suspected giant cell tumors, particularly in unusual locations.
